Serotonin Syndrome

by usigirl5630, Nov 04, 2009 05:30PM
I was wondering, can 2.5 mg of lexapro lead to serotonin syndrome, and if it can how rare would it be
also I have been taking .5 mg of Xanax for a week for anxiety....and if I don't take it before I go to bed I will wake up shivering so bad that my muscles will jump, what could this be, is it anxiety because I usually get really upset with it but I thought it was because I was having probs with the xanax but is it just because it's anxiety and it makes it go away

If Lexapro is the only medication of this kind that you are taking (including supplements), then the answer is absolutely not.

If you're just starting on Lexapro, then you can expect some bothersome side effects for the first week or two of treatment.

If that's not it, it is likely just the symptoms of anxiety.
