I too suffer from this horrible disorder. Feels like I'm ball and chain, everyday. I'm always depressed and its really starting to effect my relationships, work, and I'm scared to go back and finish college because its progressively become worse and worse. Dreams can trigger it.. anything can, pretty much. I cant enjoy a normal social life with out the fear of loosing control... its sad. I have just been prescribed fluxeotine and alprazolam. We will see how it works I suppose. The palpitations are pretty nerve wrecking... everytime I eat I have mild attacks. That, I honestly do not understand the cause or why its happening with that either.. I have tried to eat healthier too. Its ruining absolutely everything. I cannot drink or eat a lot with out having one and that also includes any alcoholic beverages. I want to find a solution. I am so desperate to break free and live a normal life. I'm only 21 years old and everything is falling apart. I wish I didn't have to take the medications but if they will help, then all the hope for me is to continUe. I'm open for anyones advice and solutions. Please. Help
I also have pcos and hypothyroidsm.. could that also have something to do with it? Chemical or hormonal inbalances?
Sorry for rhe typos or lack of proper punctuation.. I am very anxious.
Dizziness/lightheadedness/vertigo/off-center feeling/etc go with anxiety like toast and eggs. I have been struggling with both for 3.5 years. The anxiety causes the dizziness, which makes me more anxious, which makes me more dizzy, etc. If I'm not careful this "feedback loop" can easily lead to a panic attack. You might consider getting a referral to see a neurologist who might have some strategies for reducing your symptoms. In the meantime, it's best not to hyper-focus on the symptoms. Like Michigan07 wrote, keep yourself occupied with work, hobbies, friends, family, etc -- whatever will keep you focusing OUTWARD rather than INWARD. I hope that helps!
It can be very hard to believe that all this can come from anxiety. However, anxiety can show itself physically as it has with you, me, and so many others be it tingling, nausea, or stomach aches. The most important things you can do and you eluded to two yourself is one keep distracted on things you enjoy to do and two take care of your body which you mention you allow yourself to get dehydrated. Make sure you drink fluids to prevent dehydration and that should help with some of your pain. Also, counseling as mentioned would be a good idea because talking this out with someone can help you find ways to manage it.
