Severe chronic anxiety with dizziness

Hi; I have severe chronic anxiety with dizziness 24/7, it's not bouts or 15 minutes its chronic. I'm going crazy and can't get anybody or even a professional to help me with this. I don't have a support system at home there is nobody, I csnt stand this anymore. Just a little reprieve from this would be great but I don't get it. Anybody have this and live miserable everyday of there life?   Help!, I don't have a life at all I'm just existing.

I never said it was ordinary anxiety.  I totally agree you have a tough case, and I feel for you.  I wish I had something else to suggest for you, but we can only recommend the things we know to work when treating anxiety.  Treating anxiety is largely trial and error as you know.  I know it's frustrating that you haven't seen any results when seeking help in the traditional ways.  I am sure you feel hopeless and defeated.

What I keep trying to tell you is that you cannot rule any option out based on past bad experiences.  If you've been to 3 hospitals, maybe the 4th will prove helpful?  If you've had 10 therapists, maybe the 11th will be the one to start making a difference?

I know it's probably nearly impossible for you to try to have a positive attitude, I don't fault you for that at all, and have no doubt I would feel the same way....but you have to keep trying.  You have to start thinking and believing that you WILL get better, you WILL find the right help.  Start buying books, self help CDs..throw yourself into it from every angle.  REALLY put your heart and soul into it.  Not saying you haven't before, but at this point, you've got very negative impressions of every treatment modality.  That's normal in your situation, but it won't help you.

There's a saying, "fake it til you make it".  Basically, you try to pretend that what's happening isn't happening, or isn't as bad.  Believe it or not, it works to some extent at times.  Try to talk yourself into having a positive experience as you try the next round of professional help.  You may not really FEEL that way, but with practice, you can change your outlook a little, and I think that will make a big difference in the progress you make.

If you go IN to the therapist's office, or hospital thinking, "Eh, this is a waste of time, this never works"....it won't.  That's my point.  Every time someone here makes a recommendation for you, you explain how you've already tried it and it doesn't work.  You have a self defeating attitude/outlook that will be detrimental to your progress.

Again, that's not a judgement...I'm not blaming you for being like that...who wouldn't feel like that?  It just means you have to work that much harder to defeat those notions to try to hang onto some bit of hope.  I know you lack support, so there's another thing you could work on...try to find a support group, or meet some new people, or try to turn to a different friend or family member for support.

I really wish there was a magic wand to make you feel better.  I can feel the suffering in your posts.  I'm just trying to tell you what I think is going to help you (even if a little, to start...you have to start somewhere).  We'll always be here to support you.  Have you tried a vertigo medication like I suggested before?  If so, what have you tried?  That may be an angle.

Thinking of you..so sorry you're going through this.  You have to believe that you will get your life back.

I am seeking it out. I have therapy and a phyc. Doctor, nobody has seen anyone like me. It's just not anxiety I feel like a drunk all the time when I walk. No doctor and no inpatient has helped me, cause they can't help my constant drunk feeling, so therefore my anxiety doesn't stop. I use to be normal and happy and never thought anybody could live such a life.  I have had therapy for my ear but that didn't work cause I would go there and shake with anxiety. I don't have a support system and nobody cares cuz they don't understand. Yes, I need help and I know that, but I have done that, how many inpatient facilities do I have to go into and come out with the same results. When I go to the grocery store, I feel like I drank two quarts of vodka.  Now you tell me? This isn't just any ordinary anxiety.

With all due respect, we've told you on your other threads that you need help, but you don't seem to be seeking it out.  I DO understand you've had bad experiences in the past, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still keep trying.

I'm not sure what else to tell you hon, as you usually come back with many reasons why you can't or won't do the things advised.  You have our support of course, burt you need more than that.  I know it's hard, but you have to dig deep and try.....

Hi. I am a sufferer too. Besides medication, I do deep breathing early morning upon waking up. I do this for 10 minutes. This relieves my anxiety a lot for the whole day. I do some other physical activities too.  I'm on Xanax and Moclobemide. You may see a psychiatrist. Wish you all the best.

If it is bad as you stated then I would suggest that you go to your emergency psych and have them evaluate you. They do urgent matters and then set you up with a follow up team if you dont have a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Hi, Adelle.  You are not alone.  I, and many others on here suffer anxiety.  We all handle it in different ways.  I am particularly severe, and had to be treated in an inpatient setting.  Others do okay with a combo of anti-anxiety meds and counseling.  And still others choose to go the all-natural route, refusing all prescription meds (anti-anxiety meds can cause dependence).  Let us know how we can help you, please!  Blessings - Blu
