Sleeping/Morning Anxiety

by jtl712, Jan 19, 2008 01:20PM
Having trouble getting a full nights sleep..usually get about 5 hours and can't get back to sleep and the mornings are the worst for my anxiety.  When I open my eyes and see the light out it really bothers me and gets me more anxious. Anybody else feel like this?  I am on my second week of 75mg Zoloft, .5 xanax to get to bed and have 100 mg seroquel.

This is my first day on 75mg and I'm sleepy was it like that for you,but couldn't sleep last night I think it was due to nerves and it's worse with bruspar (sleeping aid) so I think I'm going to try meditation instead or just reading a book my problem is getting to sleep and staying asleep. Maybe you should try taking your Zoloft in the morning. Per website the most effective hours are between 4-8 houtrs so it's working and waking you up in the night. I switched yesterday and didn't feel that drama like I usually felt last night just couldn't sleep, but like I said that was nerves ...

I suffer from anxiety as well. I was on Effexor XR and was doing well. Slowly worked my way off with MD approval. After a month the anxiety has returned. I cannot get a full night of sleep, I seem to sleep for short periods at a time then wake up in full anxiety attack.

I don't have a solution for you, but sometimes when I hear about others having similar problems I find it comforting.

Trazadone works for me at bedtime.  Just a suggestion but you might want to check it out.  It's classification is an anti-anxiety medication.  Larger doses work at night for sleep. Good luck.

Yeah..yesterday was my first day of 100 mg and felt sleepy for a little bit and than it was ok. I just seem like i'm foggy and kind of like robotic if you know what i mean.  Last night was the worst.  Maybe 3 hours of sleep and than anxious and sort of depressed and couldnt get back to sleep.  I don't know what it is with the mornings, its when I feel the worst. Took a .5 xanax before bed and that didnt work.  Don't know what to do. Maybe it will go away soon after my body is used to the zoloft.
