Stomach pain from anxiety...

I have severe stomachaches and I know they are primarily fueled by my anxiety. Does anyone have diet they use for anxiety?

Hello
I am willing to bet your husband had very poor excersize habits. I am willing to bet he rearely got aerobic excersize.
I have found that the mile per day is a total prescription for health.
It is not hard to do.
Almost anyone can walk a mile, almost anywhere.
It is incredibly energizing. And the energy it gives... keeps on giving ALL DAY.
I would have a problem with trying to do 6(or a larger amount like that) miles. I think that it would end up making me discouraged if I couldn't make it.
And it is much harder for the average person to do 6 miles, and to do it regularly.
I could see how after getting in a regular, moderate, walking habit, you might just be able to expand from there.
Since I go out at dawn, the 1 mile is enough to rev up my day, get me feeling good, but short enough not to be an EVENT of the day... More like taking a shower... It was easy to get in and used to.

I think we can be healthy without eating a lot of bland foods.  I eat healthy and walk 6 miles a day, have never smoked, drank, or used illegal drugs. I don't deprive myself of any food, just eat in moderation, and I'm almost 62. My husband ate a lot of fatty foods and can barely walk due to peripheral artery disease caused by his diet, has had two stents put in, is diabetic, and has high BP.  He is a mess, and it's mainly due to his diet and his doctors remind him of this constantly.  I say do what makes you feel best, nobody is right ot wrong, it's a personal choice.  Seeing what my husband endures on a daily basis scares the daylights out of me, so I choose healthy. I'm glad you feel good with how you eat.  My life has been extremely painful, but I still want to live a long time, it's not about me, but my loved ones.

Hi
The new findings about fat and carbs are reversing what they have been hoopla ing us into doing for the las 30 years. Suddenly ungodly low cholesterol is bad for us... Too much antioxident can cause you to gain weight.
My cholesterol was borderline high, and I was hardly eating...
I said "screw it!" when I realized that all the stuff I wasn't getting to eat and do, was ruining my youth and making me miserable, nothing was improving... And if I live a few years longer, it will be in my painfilled, disabled, dotage... LIKE!!!! DO I REALLY WANT TO ADD YEARS ONTO THE PAIN PART OF LIFE?????
I started eating what I wanted. I use bacon alot.
Last time I had my bloodwork done, I had the cholesterol of a 20 year old. It is perfect! In fact my Blood Sugar was perfect... everything.
I feel better when I eat well. I have my own organic garden.

Stay away from bacon and bacon grease, or you'll be able to hear your arteries clogging while you eat!  Eating right before bed is not good if you have acid reflux (GERD).  It causes the stomach acid to increase while you are lying down which will make your GERD worse, causing erosion of your esophagus.  IF you have GERD keep your head elevated at night.  It's trial and error when it comes to what foods will impact your digestive tract, with sugars and caffeine being the worst.  But unless you are treating the anxiety, and ruling out other causes for you stomach issues, none of this will help you.

PS
I, literally, eat most anything.
I eat Bacon, and I use bacon fat to cook with. I use real butter, not margarine. I do not eat all that many carbs, as they are digested quickly, and cause painful REBOUND.
I do eat meat. Steak, Pork, Chicken, Fish...
In my opinion, the fat and protein stay in my stomach longer.
I also drink regular Tea. I use brown sugar and milk in it. I sip that throughout the day. The nice thing about tea is that it has half the caffeine of coffee... Lots of antioxidents! The bit of milk and sugar help keep my tummy busy.
NO I AM NOT FAT!!!
I am 5'6" tall and weigh 135 lbs. I do not diet. I walk a mile daily! I don't have to diet!

Well the best cure is prevention.
Start by dealing with your anxiety, or it will tear your body apart.
I have PTSD. I developed GERD, to the point of daily nausea.
They gave me this pill and that. No real continuing help.
So I stopped the pills.
I eat a nice protein/fat packed breakfast, to give my tummy something to do during the day.
Yogurt sometime in the middle of the day.
Take a 1 mile walk. (Called a "constitutional") every day. Walking helps all your systems work properly, and it is better than a pill for relieving anxiety. I like to walk first thing upon rising. It just pulls my whole day together nicely.
I was having difficulty with severe acid rebound at night. As long as I used "base" things like milk, or tums, it would devolve to the point of vomiting and pain.
I decided to try the opposite of base ph, but not as acid as my stomach.
I keep some cranberry juice with pomegranate juice in it, by my bed. If I wake at night I take a drink of juice. The cran/pom combination is tart. I buy plain cranberry (needs some sugar-not with fake sugar) and add the plain pomegranate (no sugar added). My stomach is much better now than with all those pills and junk. I rarely have episodes of nausea anymore. The pain of acid is easily handled by keeping my tummy working during the day. I can augment during the day with cran/pom.
I also try to eat some fatty thing an hour before bed. So my tummy is quiet enough so I can sleep.

Have you had any tests to rule out other causes for this?  Severe stomach aches have many causes and you want to rule these out before assuming it's anxiety. It's always better to error on the cautious side.  Take care..

I try to eat bland foods with my anxiety. My anxiety seems to all go to my stomach..I get nausea, stomachaches, and random diarrhea from it. I eat crackers, oatmeal, ramen noodles, bananas, mashed potatoes, and apple sauce. I also drink lots of ginger ale. I rarely have an appetite and I'm lucky if I eat even 1000 calories a day but those foods seem to be easiest on my stomach. Hope that helps a bit.
