Stopping Celexa-side effect duration

by Jen330, Aug 22, 2008 09:13AM
I have been taking 20 mg Celexa for 5 years, & have decided to stop taking it.  My question is how long do the side effects last?  I have stopped cold turkey & have been experiencing head rush like feelings & some lip numbness, each only lasting a few seconds.  How long will this continue?

First off ...it is NEVER a good idea to stop a med one has been on for 5 years.

Being bold here.....You could send your system into a total shock and... bigtime depression.

Having said that...give this at least 4 weeks to subside.

Best to you and keep your doctors # at hand.

Since you've stopped it cold turkey on 20mgs, you're looking at a good 4-6 weeks of those symptoms. As Snoozies said, you just shocked the hell out of your system.
