Stuffy nose

by M4Y0U, Oct 24, 2009 05:51PM
Hey for 5 months i'm dealing with anxiety and physical symptoms such has constant neck spasms, suboccipital pressure, forehead and sinus pressure ( bridge of the nose )..

I wanted to know if any of you have had a stuffy nose for more than 5 months due to anxiety? Or can anxiety can actually mimic a sinusitis? I guess i don't have a sinusitis since it's been 5 months but whho knows... i'll go see an OrL anyway ...

Hey haven't seen you on here in a while!!! I have been wanting to write ya back to, As to the message you sent me about symptoms and your "root" I think we can relate alot in that aspect :-) anyhow I would go have it looked at just to be safe, but I think anxiety can totally cause just about anything!! My ears and throat hurt all the time lately and I would swear I have something but the doc keeps telling me I'm ok when I take my son in so I dunno lol are brains are CRAZY sometimes :-)

Hey good to hear from ya! Yeah anxiety can do alot of thing, espesialy the physical symptoms even when im not feeling anxious at all.. but the best thing i will do is to go see an ENT to rule it out. Baiscly i need every test done to rule everything done so i can start thinking and telling my mind and subcousious ''hey it's anxiety so you stay quiet and lemme live my life anxiety free'' lol

Well put!!!!! I feel like I am doing the same thing just having all these test just to hear I am fine and trying to except it's anxiety and I am going to be fine.. What i would give to live an anxiety free life :-) I am doing better tho!!! How's your neck been feeling are you feeling any better these days??

My neck is i must say 30% better for a 2 days streak. The depression kinda kicked in hard but now im at my mom's and it's good being with her since i can focus on something else... Last week tho my neck/back of head( suboccipital muscles ) and forehead and sinus was awefull i was like '' oh man thi sis getting worse i have something bad'' but worse anxiety = worse symptoms and worse symptoms = worse anxiety eh? lol i hate the way anxiety is... Anyway i've been taking a lot of benzos in the past 2-3 days and it looks like its under control and my neck is feeling better.

I also bought a soft cervical collar to use with my laptop to prevent futher repetitive stress injury and i bought a neck vibrator which is awesome and provide instant releive.

Are you feeling better? How's your anxiety?

That's good to hear I know what it's like to have a couple good days it's like a weight being lifted off your shoulders!!! How's your mom feeling??
I am feeling a little better myself I still get the dispersonalation from time to time these days but my chest pain is hardly even there anymore. Andthe other things are much better too!! My main issue right now is I have a cold I think, and I am in general very wary of the the flu and germs etc.. And this year with all the un knowns of h1n1 I am very concerned about that.. My son was sick a few weeks ago and is just now getting  better and now I'm sick and I turn my low grade fever, headache, sore throat, and chest dis comfort into something much more serious :-( and I keep telling myself this whole flu is being hyped up by the media when most cases are minor but I still keep fixating on it and the what ifs ???? So I don't know just trying to relax, I need to go get me a neck massager lol :-)  I trying to wean of the Xanax I am about half way done so hopefully soon I will just be on the buspar!!  So we will see.. I just want to be back to being happy again I am not used to feeling sickly or depressed and I hate that I do!! It's not me :-( I'm sorry your feeling the same way I can totally relate..

Don't worry about the A H1N1... did you now that the normal flu kill many more people each year than this influenza? It's a mass manipulation and a money making vaccin issue... This virus cannot be pandemic since the incubation time is way too fast... For a virus to cause a real pandemic concern the incubation time should be at least 1 month so everyone who are infected cannot be quanrantined right on and infect everyone...

I'm going on a Bromazepam withdrawal myself .. i'm taking 2 6mg pills now which is a lot to get a calming effect... now i will try to cut that oof and im seing a doc tomorow and i will ask him about cymbalta or lexapro... i think i will preffer cymbalta.. then maybe when i will cut the cymbalta i will go on buspar and then cut everything and live a happy life!

I exersice a lot too.. i go to the gym everyday and u should jus do that it helps alot!!!!!!! I could go on and tell you about each hormones that you are producing before and after exercising but you can google that!

Keep going on, im glad to hear it's gettin a bit better for you... myself too i'm gettin better.. its only the depression that is kickin in a bit but its under control i think since i can forget about it while im doing something else or when im being wth friend or when im helping people on medhelp =)

Take care!

Your sweet :-) and I do appreciate your opinions and advice!! I am glad your doing better too it sounds like it's really starting to come together for you that's awesome!!! I know what you mean about excersising it does make a big difference!!  Let me know what you think about the meds you were talking about, how they work out for ya or which one you decide chosing a med is always hard!! I take buspar now and I know you mentioned taking that later on and I was curious as to why you are trying the other meds first asbi got mine through my gp and not a specialist so just curious!! Thanks

I know a lot about pharmacology and the brain and receptors. Si i am really aware of what drug i wanna take and that will suit me needs. I know my own body more than any doctor. I studied a lot of neuroscience and some chemistry and pharmaco so that's why i know what type of drug i should take.

If you have any question too don't worry to ask my what i think. The Busspar can be really good for you since you will have barely no side effect since it's only an anxiolytic and it can also act as an anti-depressant but without acting on the same receptors normal anti-depressors will act and i guess the fact that being less anxious will make you less depressive in a way.

Congrats for cuttin the Xanax, i know benzos are hard to quit. I'm on double dose for 3 days now after an unsuccesful withdrawal.

Don't be afraid to private message me next time as i think we are spaming this topic even if no one cares! lol

Take care and tell me how the Buspar is working for ya!
