TO ALL NEW POSTERS-PLEASE READ

Learning to navigate around a new Web site can be a confusing and daunting task. Ours is really very simple and you'll soon get the hang of it.

Unfortunately, posting your questions or comments into the "Welcome to the Forum" thread will not get those questions onto the "main" board for people to respond to. I hope you read the Welcome message, but when you are ready to dive in and post, please click on the green "Post A Question" box. This will open a window for you to write your post. Please be sure to add a TITLE/TOPIC as that will help direct the people who have first hand experience with your issue respond faster. We don't need an epic tome, but please give us as much information as you can. . If you are taking other meds, or have other conditions, we need to know about those to give you the best answer we can. Your age and gender are important as there can be different answers for men and women, the young and the older.
For those who HAVE posted in the Welcome message, just cut and paste your question into a new post and send it off...............we want to respond as quickly as possible but new post often go unnoticed in the Welcome thread.
So.............Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry for the confusion! We'll be looking for your post.
Peace
Greenlydia

To add to what Lydia already posted....a few things to keep in mind when posting for the first time...

Like Lydia said, try to include any and all pertinent information that will help us to help you.  This includes your history of anxiety, any kind of treatment you've sought in the past, and the outcome of that treatment.  Also include what you've done thus far in seeking help for anxiety...have you had a check-up to rule out any medical condition that could explain your symptoms? Have you been referred to a psychiatrist?  Again, like Lydia said, include any medical history and meds you may be taking, and if possible, the dosages.

Thee are other features that you will find helpful, and while it may take some time to learn how to use what feature...just a few of them include...many different health "trackers" where you can enter info daily and "track" your symptoms.  There is an anxiety tracker that many find helpful.  There is a "journal" feature that allows you to share your thoughts with other members.  You can also post public "notes" to other members, as well as send them a private message.  To use any member to member feature, you have to hover the cursor over the members user name and then choose the appropriate action.

Try to complete your profile as much as possible.  It helps give us an idea of WHO you are.  Include pictures if you wish, just keep in mind that this IS the internet, and personally....I think posting pictures of children is never a great idea.  That is a personal choice.  Just remember that anyone can access those pictures.

Lastly, please be patient when waiting for a reply.  While we typically answer posts pretty promptly, remember that this is a user to user forum, and there are certain times of the day that there are less people around to answer posts.  The answers you receive are from people who have been where you are and can offer you suggestions and support.  Just keep in mind, that although many of us are well versed in medications, you need to consult with your doctor regarding ANY change in your med regimen. Never act on advice you receive without discussing it first with your doctor.

Welcome to the anxiety forum...we're glad you found us and hope to help you navigate both the site, as well as your battle against anxiey.
