Question to the group -- my doctor thinks "talk therapy" will help me -- or what he calls cognitiveMental status tests behaviour therapy. Does this actually work for anyone? Thanks!
I agree with MOTAH. Stay away from the meds until all else fails. Personally, I don't feel "talk therapy" alone is all that effectiveEffective strength cough syrup. I don't know how it works with meds. Just make sure you find a good therapist. Some therapists don't give a sh*t about your situation. They can't wait to get you out the door and collect payment. If you feel that your therapist is this way, dump him/her and get a new one.
Not everyone needs medication, everyone is different. I strongly suggest you follow your dr advise & do the CBT by itself if they see it's more appropriate but don't over push form medication, generally it may show some relief in some cases but generally it has plenty of side effects. so it's worth it to try to do without medication first & see results.
cheers,
Best...
