Side effects happen before effects. If you don't give a medication enough time you never know if you'll adapt to it and if it'll help or not. If you don't want to use medication, there are alternatives you can try, particularly therapy. And yes, a psychiatrist would be a good idea, but keep your thinking cap on when you do.

DYSLEXIC;I stoped because my dr said me to stop it. and the second , also he with zoloft.
Paxiled: Why are you always in such a hurry to change things? -> because i still have very fatigue when i take with 4.5mg dosage, i only work well in the first ten days and benzo cant described in the long time used. i dont know that is nervous upset or anxiety and depresstion of me com back. today at dosage 1.5mg lemoxil and 15mg remeron at least i feel ok. May be i need talk psychiatrist.
Dyslexic is wrong, there is no 1year rule. There is no rule. These meds were all designed originally and approved originally as short-term bridges to tide people over until therapy worked. There is no rule about whether depression is forever or not -- we don't know anything about that. Pharmaceutical companies have put a lot of paid studies out there, but independent researchers have no idea what causes depression, let alone how to treat it for everyone. You do it through trial and error. As for your questions, I assume you have a psychiatrist -- you really should be asking your questions there. None of us here are experts on this stuff, we're just folks who have taken medication but not necessarily the ones you're taking. But you're still quitting these drugs too quickly -- you went down on your drug dosage quickly without slow tapering. As I said originally, these meds must be stopped as tailored to how you feel when you do it, and you suffered a lot of symptoms by cutting your dose abruptly. Why are you always in such a hurry to change things?
Why did you stop the Prozac , 1 year is preferred if working, just to help rebound anxiety and depression from coming back, Stopping a med early because you think its done its job and you can manage, is the kiss of death with depressive illness . Usually 3 bouts of depression means you will be prone forever to depression, so stopping a med that is working is madness unless the side effects are worse than the illness. IF your Prozac was working it would still be working today if you hadn't aborted it .READ YOUR LEAFLETS it tells you in ENGLAND and a GP will say this to you before he will give you a med , You no you need this for 1 year at least . we all think there is a better med out there but if one is working that is the one.

Thank for your very helpful answer.
There are no "safe" drugs, there are only the ones we can't do without. The safest treatment for mental problems is therapy, when it works, or some other thing that changes your way of thinking. There are natural methods of dealing with this, if you have the motivation to work hard at it, but you have to learn how to do it or find someone who specializes in holistic medicine. But there are no guaranteed cures, at least none that I know. If you haven't solved your essential problem stopping medication, if it has helped, will probably result in the problem coming back; if you have worked on it and moved on, then medication isn't necessary anymore. Many people do recover and many don't; life isn't certain. But trying at least gives you a chance you'll find your way through. When we can't find any solution to our essential problem, then medication is the best we have right now. I hope you find your solution.
