Tapering off Lexapro

I am about to come off Lexapro. How long does it take? I have gained about 25 ilbs and really thought itwas inmy head so i am relieved to see others on this site with the same problem. Has ANybody else come off it and found it Okay?

Every person is different and can have different experiences when coming off a medication.  I, personally, had a horrible time both on Lexapro and horrible withdrawal while coming off...headaches, flu-like symptoms, confusion.  I would discuss a schedule on which to wean off the medication with your doctor.  You know yourself best and how you are feeling...once you start coming off the medication, if you start to feel bad or have withdrawal symptoms, slow it down a bit.  Like I said though, not everyone has such bad times getting off.  Your experience could and hopefully will go much better than mine.  My only advice, whether you feel ok or not, do it right, don't just stop cold turkey.  Good Luck!
