Tapering offf Klonopin

HI Im hoping someone will give me some imput.In feb 08 i was put on 1 mg xanax 3 times aday.I dont like xanax so in april i ask my dr to taper me off it so he added 0.5 mg of klonopin 4 times a day and had me cut back by 1 xanax and again on may8 and now im down to 0.5 mg of xanax its not been easy,now he is tapering me of the klonopin 10 days ago he had me cut back to 3 0.5 then in 10 days drop another and so on every 10 days till im off.have been on the klonopin since april 23 08..is this a reasonable taper?
