Terrified of ALS

Hi All,

So, I've posted a few questions previously about medication and being dizzy, etc! But, im totally fixated on ALS, and have myself flipping out! First, I am 33 years old, and my Dad's mother passed from fhe disease in 1980, she was the only family member to have had it so far, no one before her, and none of her children including my Dad are fine. I've noticed that my right toes feel off, I've had twitching all around, face, legs, and even feels like in my chest. I've dropped things here and there, and I feel like swallowing feels different! Anyone out there experience any of this, or could point me in the right direction, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! I've been performing strength tests, and pass all of them even though I'm very overweight, my Mom has said, but I'm worried all of the twitching, and buzzing in my foot, and mini panic attacks at night are an early sign. :/

Thank you for your response!! It is comforting to know I'm not alone!! This feat has really taken over, I watched a video of a man with that disease and j cried all afternoon!! I've convinced myself I'm experiencing those symptoms in my fingers and toes, that the last ones feel acward or not coordinated like the rest. My Mom has doe strengths tests with me and watched me move them and says I'm fine, but that reassurance only last for a short time!! I do feat strokes and things like that, but it's because my Grandmother died from the current disease I'm talking about it has me more obsessed with thinking that.

Hi sorry to hear about your ALS anxiety, this disease I don't know much about - but from what I have read people experience it differently. From what I read of your symptoms , they are exactly the same as mine down to a tee!!! The only difference is my worries are heart attack and stroke as my mother passed away suddenly this year of a brain stem stroke. The symptoms you have and I have too are are classic health anxiety symptoms, the muscle twitching is really annoying but I tend to try and not let it bother me as I've had it a while now and nothing has come of it , I also have mini panic attacks at night , I'm not sure why, sometimes I think it's because my doctor surgery is closed after 5 lol
I have recently started to have professional massages and they seem to be freeing some anxiety and helping the symptoms. Wish I could offer you a solution but if I had one id use it too haha x
