Tight throat!?

Does anyone get a SEVERE tight throat for no reason? I will randomly get them when i'm not having any panic attack or thinking about anything that makes me anxious. & Its not just a little tightness its like i can hardly breathe it feels like all my throat muscles narrowing to a point where i can only get a tiny bit of air. It kinda feels like a lump too, but a big lump. Sometimes I get it for a couple days in a row, other times just for 20 minutes. Sometimes SUPER tight where i feel like I will pass out but other times just a little tightness. Sometimes it lasts for long periods of time like a few weeks even. Have had bunch of chest and throat xrays, doctors say its anxiety as usual. Any feedback??!?! much appreciated:(

I think what you are referring you to is globus, the feeling of having a lump or ball in your throat, I think it can feel like a tight throat also.

Not sure what causes it, I have had it occasionally, but if I remember rightly, it happens sometimes to me if I inhaled my food, you know or it could just be air from your stomach not escaping all the way, creating the feeling.

Hi Rachhxo303, I am not a medical professional but it sounds to me like you might be hyperventilating (Over breathing) as a consequence of your anxiety. Check this link out and see if you find the information on Hyperventilation Symptoms useful.
