Tingling sensations

Does anyone else get prickly and tingly sensations through out the day on and off? I am so tired of this, I get it all over my body. I get ready for bed and it will bother me for a  while and when I wake up in the morning I am fine. Then as the day progresses things get worse. I have health anxiety and worry about all the other diseases that I could have. I'll do that all day long. My doctor says " and you wonder why your body feels this way." How do we calm down and get rid of all these symptoms? I want to be normal again.

Did you say, "normal again?" Meaning there was a time when you WERE normal? When was that? Whenever that was, mentally go back to that time and see happened that had a big impact on you. Not necessarily a big deal itself -just a big deal TO YOU. If we can rule out other external causes such as exposure to chemicals, etc., then it is a good bet that something important emotionally happened around the time your symptoms started. It may be more than one thing, and it may be continuing as we speak. See what you find, and let us know (if you want to) what it was.

Well I appreciate your help. I do have a husband but he really is no help because he does not understand. My comfort are my two little girls. I cuddle with them or doing something like scrapbooking. Today I felt a little hungry at about 2:00 p.m. and ate. I do feel much better when I talk about it! I talk to my sister in law who really listens. I wonder if this is something that I think I am going through and I really am not. I ask myself am I really feeling this way? I know my hormones are out of wack. A few weeks ago I was naseaus, but that feeling has gone away. I feel as if every month I go through something different. I do appreciate your help and listening. I feel better when I talk about it!

am here for you , ive been there to and no fun i have a great husband and hes always there for me, he understands and trys to make it better . i pulled myself out of it ,i knew i was the one who had to, if you dont no one can, but it did take a few meds to help me out, no your not crazy ,your very normal, just something your going through right now, if you have never had anxiety 24/7 than you can pull out of it. i know when am up-set with stress/anxiety i do not eat , like you before i know it its dinner time and i have not ate all day, so yes i lost weight and lost it fast, but after 3 months of getting back to self i put it back on, some keep it off but i didnt . when i start thinking am sick or why is this hurting me i push it out my mind and get up and do something , i read/take warm bath/ cuddle with my hubby, anything to change the subject and think of something elsa.and yes before durning and agter your period your hormones are crazy and can cause you to have anxiety, so keep that in mind. i hope your having a good day and hang in there it gets better . Thank you for responding so quickly. Most people around me think I am a little crazy. It all started somewhere before Thanksgiving. I went into a mild depression where I began to feel symptoms after my period and I thought I was suffering from something. The worries made my appetite dissappear because I normally get a knot in my stomach when I am worried and forget food exists! This has been affecting me since. All of a sudden those symptoms dissappeared out of nowhere. Then I started to worry because I had lost weight because I have something(not thinking it could have been that I had not eaten for a while just nibbling on food) It is a constant worrying. I have always been a worry wort, but not like this. It sometimes interferes with my daily activities. I have two daughters 5 and 7. I am just glad someone understands.

yes worries you can, i lost 21 pds n 3 weeks because i was in anxiety mode, anxiety/stress can make your body do many things, it makes you sick/lose weight/worry about things that are not there / your mind is very powerfull and like me i say no way can my self be dingthis to me, but it happens, when you think your not thinking about it ,your mind is and you dont know it, so try and relax just try and eat small meals , when i was in anxiety i would eat little things through out the day, it helped and the 21 pds i lost i have gained all back, so dont worry about the weight lose just try and get better. always here for you .

I am 36 years old. I think that I am suffereing from anxiexty with a mixture of perimenopause. I am constantly worried about my health to the point that my eating habits have changed and I have lost weight! I am now concerened that I am losing weight because there might be something else wrong with me. I am constantly worried about everything and it drives me nuts!!!!!! I think I have a phobia of some sort. Can constant anguish such as this make you lose weight? Can you eat while you are worried and not gain weight?

Yes, I have been getting burning/prickly/tingly hands sometimes into my arms, especially at times of rest, which were recently diagnosed as a symptom of anxiety.  A few times the burning has escalated into a panic attack, then includes more burning sensation down my groin and legs to my feet, with rapid/heavy heartrate, and tightness in my chest.  Have been to the ER four times in the past few weeks, convinced it was my heart, but tests come back normal.  I am now on meds for anxiety, and find abdominal (belly) breathing helpful.  Also, the Anxiety & Phobia Workbook has been very informative and comforting.

I get the tingling too.  When my GAD started 7 years ago I would get it in waves just before a panic attack, and then as I paniced and would lay down, I would feel the tingling in my enitre body, usually focused in the side of my body that wasn't touching the bed.  I have gotten the tingling in my face when I have a flushing episode.  At this point my hands, forearms, feet and calves tingle everyday whenever they want to.  My feet are tingling right now :-)  Sometimes it feels more like a vibration instead of pins n needles, and get this vibration internally (in my body cavity) as well.  I have health anxiety focused mainly on my heart and when I feel vibrations around my heart I freak out.  I have noticed that when the tingling is at it's strongest my hands tremble, and my muscles shake upon exertion.  I get muscle twitching at rest too.  I wish I could tell you how to calm yourself down over this.  I've been trying to figure it out for a long time.  I know it all comes down to the fear of the unknown, and letting go of that fear is what we need to do.  But how in the world do you do that???

I hope this helps you, and that you feel better soon.

Yes, I get that from time-to-time in my toes and fingers.  I've had a complete nero check up and am healthy -- so that has helped me somewhat.  I think when I get stressed, I start to hyperventelate (I read that 30% of the population hyperventelates and does not even know it) -- and that could possible cause the tingling and numbing sensations I feel.  What helps me is deep relaxation breathing and possibly an Ativan.
