Went to my psycologist today and he has put me on 1 tablet of TofranilTofranil Tofranil-pm for two nites then up it to 2 tablets for two nites and so on just wondering if anyone else is taking this medication im also taking Rivotril which has helped me heaps. Any one having side effects from taking TofranilTofranil Tofranil-pm 25mg. I would be really happy to hear from you.
im sorry but im not fimilar with this drug. but maybe you could google it or somthing and see the side effects or read peoples storys about it : ) good luck,
TofranilTofranil Tofranil-pm is indicated only for moderate/severe depression, and is a poor choice for anxiety states. TofranilTofranil Tofranil-pm has a stimulating effect, and has numerous side effects (many of which are potentially serious). Amoung the worst of them are cardiacCardiac catheterization Cardiac tamponade Left heart ventricular angiography arrythmias and thrombosis (blood clotting). In males, development of breasts may also result (no, I'm not joking).
The drug is somewhat similar to modern birth control, which are also tricyclics.
Rivotril and Tofranil is not a popular drug cocktail, and I have to wonder why you were prescribed such an old (and potentially dangerous) drug.
Sinequan (Doxepin), is a tricyclic derivitive that IS indicated for anxiety states, and has relatively few side effects. Perhaps you can discuss Sinequan with your doctor. Sinequan alone, or in combination with Rivotril would be a good combination. I personally would not take the Tofranil (unless medically indicated for severe depressive states).
