You have cyberchondria like me, and so many others on here. It is where we look up things and we start to assume we have them, because of maybe one or two symptoms are the same. Def. stop looking things up it will drive you crazy. Let us know how the therapist woork out. Good luck.
Thank you for your response. I have called up a cognitive behavioral therapist and i scheduled an appointment. I will never look up symptoms again online because it definately made things 100 percent worse. My mind definately plays tricks on me. thanks again
Hi Lax, if you have seen your doctor and are under a doctor's care, it's probably some sort of anxiety. I am not a doctor though. I too have had many symptoms since Nov when the docs think I had a bout of encephalitis. They mimiced other diseases and I have had them checked out.
My advice to anyone firstly, is to not google symptoms. This will only come up with NEW diseases that you have not self-diagnosed yourself with which in turn will exacerbate your anxiety. Trust me, I did that and it made me waaay worse.
Secondly, I have been seeing a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (special psychologist training)and it has helped immensely. If you are having symptoms that only occur when you are thinking or looking for them, then they will occur, but if they are not there when you are busy etc...it is most likely anxiety. You would be amazed at how intricate our brains are. I have had about 5-6 sessions and it has helped. Plan for a series of visits, this is not something that a therapist can fix in just a couple of visits. They need some background and needs to figure out your "way" of thinking.
That's my 2 cents worth! Hope it helps. Remember that you are your own advocate for your health and that includes your mental health too. I hope you have a healthy recovery from anxiety--it seems the sooner you nip it in the bud the easier it is to control it. Cheers!
