Ok to start:::: I have never been labelled agoraphobic, but I read many things on the internet and I have every symptom of agoraphobiaAgoraphobia Panic disorder with agoraphobia. My doctor prescribed me 60mg of celexa a day and .5mg of alprazolamAlprazolam Alprazolam ertwiceTwice-a-day a day. I can go out of my house, but when I am in a situation where I feel anxious, I have a panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attack and I need to get outside immediatly. Lately I've noticed that even going outside is not really doing it for me, getting back to my house is the best thing. When I get home from a panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attack sometimes I still feel very anxious and I cant sit down for sometimes up to 6 hours. after having a bad panic attack I dont want to go anywhere that will make me feel anxious for a long time. I have not been out of a 3 block radius from my home in about 6 months. Like I said before I have been prescribed alprazolam, I have not taken this medication yet in fear of having a panic attack because of the way it will make me feel. I have been on Celexa many times and it has helped me before. I am 23 now, and I have had this anxiety or agoraphobia off and on since I was 16. I Have had ups where I can function almost normally with the exception of going to the second floor or higher of a building, or going too far into a building (without a door nearby) and downs where I cannot leave my house for almost anything. and even in my house I would not feel comfortable. I would love to get any advice on what I should do and what can help me and about the alprazolam.... Anything at all....
the alppzam is just another name for zanax it is designed to stop a panic attack from occuring before it starts it just calms you down and allows you to feel normal again it has worked wonders for me give it a try you'll feel much better
I'd try the Xanax, it worked wonders for me but it is not a drug to take regularly as it is incredibly addictive and you quickly develop tolerance to it and have to keep upping the dose the get the same effects and keep away withdrawal symptoms. As an occasional drug it works wonders, but the way ur doctor has prescribed it is worrying. You become addicted so quickly and it is difficult to get off. I know this because I did it and am trying to withdraw now. Just take one dose and see how it effects you.
I was EXTREMELY anxious about taking a prescription of Clonazapam, which is a very similar drug. I'm paranoid about all medications and had the bottle for three weeks before I opened it.
I finally started taking it the other day, and believe me, there's nothing to worry about.
If it makes you feel better, take it while there's a friend or someone you can trust who's nearby. You can take it, and the first time you will be anxious before it kicks in. That's when you call your friend...to keep your mind off it. This drug's job is to calm and relax you. It's subtle...it won't change your personality or anything. But it'll keep your anxiety under control.
Its actually very funny that you say that because I took clonazepam about 7 years ago and I couldnt go to the washroom "Urinate" and I heard voices of people yelling a couple timesand there was no one around.... My doctor at the time said I should stop that medication immediately.
Ty for you input, but now I'm even more hesitant to take the drug
Well, Clonazapam and Alprazolam are different, so maybe it wouldn't do the same thing. Did you discuss your experience with Alprazolam with your doctor?
