ok I am currently taking celexa 40mg and vistaril 50mg. I am only clean cold turkey off suboxones for 3 wks and 3 days.  My anxiety is not getting any better its the worst feeling in the world.  The other night I had a panice attack so bad I started praying that God would just take me to get it over with.  (i seriously thought i was dead).  Please someone please tell me what they think and what I should do?? I know yall may think Im crazy but Im really just an average girl with 4 great children and a full time job.  I just need help

Thanks Samantha.  I took it last night around dinner time and it totally took away my anxiety.  I was also able to sleep through the night without waking up once.  That hasn't happened in about two weeks.

Hi there! I am currently taking vistaril. I take it as needed when I feel my anxiety coming on. It works perfectly well for me! Only problem I have is that it dries me out, being that it is a antihistimine and all. But other than that I have no issues......and no I don't have a dependency problem. I barely take it. I can't see it being more of being a dependency problem than xanax or something of that nature. The only other drug I am I am taking is lexapro 5mg. You should do well on it. But I am only a nurse not a doctor. I hopes it helps you!

Thanks Sumi.  I hope it works for me as since I have been on Celexa I can't seem to get a good nights sleep.

Hi,

I was curious about Vistaril as I had never heard of this being prescribed for anxiety. So I looked it up on the internet which I am sure you have done already. From what I have read it is used primarily as an antihistamine but at times as an anti-anxiety medication for its sedative and hypnotic qualities. Apparently it has dependence issues. But from what I have read so far, if you have some insomnia/allergies, this would be a drug of choice.

I am sure other posters will have some input.
