Web Panic & Anxiety Programs

by janedoe1969, Mar 24, 2008 01:11PM
Hi.  Has anyone tried any of these programs:  Linden Method, Panic Away, or Panic & Anxiety Program by Joanne King?   I am curious about these.  Of course the testimonials are spectacular on "their" websites but I'd like to hear from other users.  Here is a link to the above three:  http://www.thelindenmethodreview.com/
Thank you.

I have only heard that the linden method works. But I cant see my self risking paying over a £100 for a book and cds/dvds.

But id also like to know if anyone has used this and its been successful?

Yes, the cost is outrageous.  The "Panic Away" has a special right now for $67.00.     The call-ins and reviews people left just sound so positive.

Nice to see you again, Jane.

I think you will find a great many people who have tried the "programs" with various results although, human nature being what it is, successes tend to be reported more often than other outcomes.

Suffice it to say that all of these resources I have ever seen tend to be most effective for those people who are far enough along in the recovery process that they can make pretty good use of the techniques. None of them discloses any revolutionary material -there are no "magic bullets."

I sometimes think the forum people should get together and form their own lending library so these things can be exchanged and people could try them without an enormous -perhaps without ANY- financial outlay. Matter of fact, let me pose the question -is that a good idea. If people are really for it I'll run it by the front office and see what we can do about that.

And I would not suggest that idea unless I truly believed that about the worst that can happen with any of them is NOTHING. That said, inasmuch as they all are a way to take action, to get started, take the initiative, regardless of how accurate they may be about the subject matter, I'm in favor, generally, of giving them a try. If there was a copy of the Linden method around, I'd start paging through it -and I no longer have panic or anxiety.

I think.

And now let me remind you -and everyone who reads this post- that it is against the forum Terms of Use to disclose any website addresses or email addresses. The "forum police" aren't going to show up at your place anytime soon, so not to worry. The Linden url was posted in complete innocence and your question is an important one, so I'm not going to do anything about it. But in the future, folks, if you want to pass along url's and emails that's fine with me -but please do so on PM's. And, if you get a chance, click on the link at bottom of the page and scope out the Terms of Use for them forum posts -you've gotta scroll down a ways to see them.

Meanwhile -what about a library?

Very sorry about posting the URL.  I will be reading the Terms of Use.

The library sounds wonderful!  I'm sure many people, like myself, are browsing the internet looking for information to help them out.  Having that info right here would be great.  I'm not sure of the principals behind the Linden Method or any or those others but having something to that effect that was 'free' would be a blessing.

Thanks for bringing that up and taking the initiative to possible get something of the sort going for everyone.

Sorry again about the URL.  Take care and also WELCOME as one of the new community leaders!

lucinda basset's attacking anxiety and depression is an offiicial CBT therapy program. it's 16 weeks long. it does cost around $300 or so. but it was put together by her. a recovered agoraphobic for over 20 some years and also pout together by psychiatrists. it is a good program. i'm not plugging it. but there are a few tapes that can really REALLY make a postive impact on you anxiety. there is also a cheap book that really helps, it's by jack handely i believe. goto amazon and look up anxiety and panic attacks their common causes and symptoms. it's an older book and it seems to me that alot of the new programs barrow alot form this guys work. he also put the book together with help of a pdoc....that's about all i know from personal experience. i heard that the linden method is less comprehensive then lucinda's program.
