Hey everyone. Another question for you..
I have been so scared lately thinking I have bowl cancer. Softer stools. No blood . But sometimes a green type mucus. The doctor thinks it's IBS but I have lost some weight even tho I haven't been trying to loose it..
I have always been on or around 142lbs but I weighed myself today and I'm 133.6lbs
The doctor thinks I am so stressed and my anxiety is so high that it's causing my weight loss?? I have also been sweating so much. It's just dripping off me. Soaking wet with it sometimes. And I'm not usually a sweater. I drink a lot of water on a daily basis. I am eating as I normally would too. Sometimes more.
I had my bloods done in April and my blood count and everything was fine. However I do have a mild under active thyroid. The doctor doesn't want to treat it yet as it's not at that point.
A under active thyroid means you struggle to loose weight as well.
So why on earth am I loosing the weight??. I am so so worried.
Has anyone else lost weight due to anxiety and stress? Please reply x
Judging from your note, I think your doc is right. Depression or anxiety can drastically impact one's appetite in either direction. Been there, done that.
Depending on your age, you ought to have a colonoscopy to reassure you that you're OK in that department. Or, simply do a fecal occult blood test.
The irony here is that all the worrying you are doing about your health may in fact be endangering your health. Chronic worry is useless. Instead, take reasonable measures to protect your health, such as I described. Then trust your doctors and your body, and focus on living life. Best wishes!
