Weird head sensations and other symptoms - Anxiety?

by Reece93, Nov 07, 2009 04:03PM
Hey everyone. I'm a 16 year old male, and about a month ago i started getting weird sensations in my head, like a sort of pressure pushing against the inside of my skull which moves to different locations (back of my head, side of my head etc). Also, sometimes i get a sort of sharp pain in different places of my head. At one point I started to get heart palpitations, and random pins and needles in my hands. Another symptom i get is unsteadiness in my hand, and sometimes legs, like a extremely acute seizure. I am constantly under a lot of stress from reasons such as family to higher education, and i believe that these symptoms are due to anxiety, however i can't stop fearing the worst case scenario of a brain tumour. The strange thing is about 2 weeks ago I had a group of friends over for a week, and we had a great time and i completely forgot about these symptoms, and after they all left i thought to myself how good it is i feel back to normal. However, only about a day or two later i started getting these feelings again (and actually worse then before). And finally, about an hour ago i started to get a sort of rushing sound in my ear when i walked. Does anyone have similar symptoms?

To: everyone
I also forgot to mention that it takes me a while to get to sleep because i keep fearing not waking up. But, once i manage to get to sleep, i wake up the next morning feeling refreshed and okay, but after about half an hour i'm back to feeling these odd sensations.

It does sound like your having anxiety. Your under alot of pressure right now with school and such. And you said your symptoms went away when you were with your friends. So I'm leaning towards anxiety.
Really though, you should see your family Dr for a full checkup. Have you thought about counseling? That could really help. Take care. Remar
