What are some symptoms of anxiety?

by leealee, Feb 10, 2007 12:00AM
Hello, I'm a 21 year old male that has recently had panic attacks. (I think).  I was just wondering what are some symptoms of a panic attack? I had a racing heartbeat that scared me very much. I also had a feeling of nausea with weakness in the legs, and I didn't feel like getting up. I was worrying about everything.  Also, I went outside cause I felt I needed fresh air, but then I would get cold and come back inside and my face got hot quick. Lastly, I got really tired, like I could've fallen asleep after my heart slowed a bit with a headache. Are these symptoms of a panic attack? Please help!

Yes, yes and yes!  These are all signs of anxiety.  You mentioned the flushing which is caused by your BP going up due to the anxiety and then when it comes down, you feel hot.

I would see your doctor about this.  I recently had a similar situation and went on Zoloft for about 7 months and it worked wonders!  Takes about 2 weeks to get into you system but when it does, you feel like normal.  You can read stories online and get a million positive and negative but for me, it was wonderful and would recommend it to anyone.

But yes, all you signs seem to be anxiety caused

check www.anxietycentre.com.  On the home page click on symptoms on the left side of the page...yours definitely are symptoms.  However, I would still get to a doctor and get checked, anyway.  Although it is quite certain it is anxiety, you should rule out all medical reasons first.

I have gotten several tests done already. I have gotten chest x-ray, physical exams, blood work, echo, ct scan, ekg, and 24 hour heart monitor. All of them came back normal. they said I had sinus arrhythmia, which the doctor said was very normal and shouldnt affect me.
