Which anxiety med's have helped your breathing problems the best?

I will be going to the doctor tommorow and ask for an appointment with an anxiety expert and I hope to get some meds to help this nonstop short breaths I have every single day. Which meds have helped you the most with this?

For me, a little Xanax has helped my breathing in high anxiety situations but if you have ongoing anxiety related breathing problems you will probably want something that is more long term. Your psych will help you with that as everyone reacts differently to meds! Let us know how it goes! Studchick

i agree with studchick, i have taken 0.5-1.0 mg of xanax on and off for about 9 years and it has def helped calm me down. in smaller doses it can help control many situations but as you mentioned a breathing issue this may call for a combination anti-depressant/anxiety medication for longer term usage, such as celebrex or zoloft. it takes a few weeks to fully enter the system and honestly makes you feel like utter crap for the first two but this is something you may wish to discuss with your physician and also research for yourself. hope you find success. take care.
