by melindazcrew6, Nov 09, 2009 12:38PM
I cant leave my room!! I get shaky and feel dreamlike when I have to somewhere or out of the room!! I have been on Zoloft 2 weeks this wensday.. Just uped it saturday to a whole 25 mg instead of half. I am anxious all the time. My boyfriend is REALLY aggravated cause I wont leave the room, wont take a shower . I am terrified of the dreamlike state coming back really BAD again. And then all the thought about having a stroke having a brain tumor ect...ect..  My kids dont understand they are young. I just want to be myself again. Not interested in eating or anything . They gave me xanax but I am so terrified of meds!! Afraid of the way they will make me feel or how they will react. BLAHHHH I really need this to end. Last week I felt like I was doing some better and now its like 1 step forward and 4 steps back :-( Sorry this is all over the place but I am just so worried and scared and a big BALL of anxiety !! Please talkto me !!

I am sorry that you are dealing with anxiety right now.  In my experience, it can be very scary and confusing in the beginning.  Remember, that medications like Zoloft can take a month to 'kick in,' and I believe that most doctors will prescribe it between 50-200mgs a day....just follow your doctors instructions.

I was initially VERY against ANY forms of medication when I first experienced anxiety.  I have been on and off of Zoloft a couple of times and I find it very helpful as long as it is combined with talk therapy.  These medications will not cure anything; in my experience they are a useful tool to have while you confront the source of your anxiety through talk therapy.  Shedding a little bit of light on why you are going through this, will help learn and confront this in my opinion.

You will get through this...it does take patience and hard work but it is VERY 'doable.'

That dreamlike state is nothing to worry about.it happens cuz your body has to proccess all that adrenaline the anxiety makes. The best thing for me was to go about my buisness as normal. The feeling does go away a little while after the panic ends. This feeling can NOT hurt you don't let it scare you

It is hard not tolet it scare me when , when it happens all I can think is what if this isnt panic and I have a brain tumor or having a stroke...ect...ect.. and I cant handle the feelings at all :-(
