I am sorry that you are dealing with anxiety right now. In my experience, it can be very scary and confusing in the beginning. Remember, that medications like Zoloft can take a month to 'kick in,' and I believe that most doctors will prescribe it between 50-200mgs a day....just follow your doctors instructions.
That dreamlike state is nothing to worry about.it happens cuz your body has to proccess all that adrenaline the anxiety makes. The best thing for me was to go about my buisness as normal. The feeling does go away a little while after the panic ends. This feeling can NOT hurt you don't let it scare you
It is hard not tolet it scare me when , when it happens all I can think is what if this isnt panic and I have a brain tumor or having a stroke...ect...ect.. and I cant handle the feelings at all :-(
I was initially VERY against ANY forms of medication when I first experienced anxiety. I have been on and off of Zoloft a couple of times and I find it very helpful as long as it is combined with talk therapy. These medications will not cure anything; in my experience they are a useful tool to have while you confront the source of your anxiety through talk therapy. Shedding a little bit of light on why you are going through this, will help learn and confront this in my opinion.

You will get through this...it does take patience and hard work but it is VERY 'doable.'
