Why do I hyperventilate?

I hyperventilate and become very faint (or pass out) if I have to have fillings at the dentist or any blood tests or injections at the doctors. I can sort of understand why as they really scare me. However, I don't understand why I also hyperventilate when I have any alcohol or have sex. I had a couple of bad sexual experiences when I was young but not that bad, could this really be making me hyperventilate? I don't think it effects me but could it be without me realising it? I haven't had any alcohol now for about 8 years and I feel terrible that I haven't had sex with my husband for a couple of years as the idea of it worries me. Please can someone help me. I can't keep avoiding these situations.

could be an anxiety disorder and you associate certain activities with negative feelings thus you hyperventilate.  I'm no doctor so don't take my word for it.  Do something that normally would make you hyperventilate and if it does again make an appt with your doctor.  Alcohol always makes me more anxious but i couldn't imagine being afraid of sex.  Try it again and just see what happens.
