Will the doctors tell you the truth if you have abnormal body odor?

Will the doctors tell you the truth if you have abnormal body odor?

I know this is a weird question, but I just have to ask.
After i hit my puberty, i could smell this offensive odor coming from my armpit... I shower three times a day, keep good hygiene, i use a good brand deodorant to cover it. Since i was constantly worried about whether other people could smell me and what would they think of me, i developed moderate anxiety disorder. However, all the family physicians and dermotologists that i went to told me that i don't have b.o. problem that they can't sense anything from me... which is driving me nuts! Though none of my family members and friends have said anything to me, i could tell that ppl around me are suffering from my b.o. (they sniff and rub their noses and look disgusted). i dont know why the doctors can't detect anything... maybe they simply don't care cuz it's obviously not a life-threatening illness and doesn't deserve to be treated seriously?
After second year of unversity, the offensive odour from my armpit disappeared; however, the anxiety persisted... i get nervous very easily and when i'm nervous my body produces this bad smell, which seems to come from my upper chest and back, this has never happened before... i have no idea what the cause is for that. However, the dermotologists that I visisted last month said they could smell nothing! During the past 5 years, I have visited 4 family physicians and 5 different dermotologists and none of them have said that I have body odor problem. I'm just wondering if it's possible that a doctor  purposely hides the truth from you because he/she doesn't want you to get worried or depressed?

I could swear I've seen this post before, but maybe not. Maybe it is just Armpit Awareness Day. And why have you posted the news of this dreaded condition on the anxiety forum, for heaven's sake? Because you carry the aroma of a country abbatoir on a hot afternoon? Or because you are ANXIOUS about it?

I'm not aware of any underground movement within the medical community to deceive anyone about their aromas; rather, I should think the doctors and nurses have smelt just about everything there is and might find it a bit difficult to discern the really hall-of-fame, paint-peeling emissions of anyone in particular.

That said, let me put you wise to something you may be doing to WORSEN the situation. All that washing and application of anti-perspirants and deodorants. Good heavens! Once a day is enough. Your arm pits and similar enclosed, dark and moist areas of your flesh are supposed to be a little ripe every now and then. And if you try to fight it too much, you create "rebound," which is just a word that means your body is saying that it will "see your 10 sprays of Right Guard and raise you 5 billion stinky bacteria. There! Take that!"

Wanna try something "natural?" OK, then eat parsley and stick some bay leaves in your pits.

And ... if the doctors all say they smell nothing offensive -and family and friends hold their noses and run for a sniff of the mint in the bottom of the urinal, consider the possibility that the doctors are telling you the truth and the others are yanking your chain.

I could SWEAR you've posted this before. You're not yabnking OUR chain -are you?

If this IS a "chain yank," shame on you. If not, shame on us. But.........I think Sir Geare has made an excellent point regarding the rate at which you shower, spray, spritz, dust and deoderize! Enough already! Maybe why people are holding their noses around you is because you smell like one of those gizmachies people hang in their toilets to fight off really offensive odors. Perhaps you are wearing so many different "things" to keep you from stinkin' the joint up, that is exactly what you ARE doing!
Since you have been to numerous doctors and dermatologist, and all have reported that you didn't peg out their "odor meter," sheesh, relax already! If you stank, trust me, they would tell you! And they wouldn't mince their words. They would say "YOU STINK!" They are not the least bit concerned about hurting your feelings, causing you excess worry or sending you into the pits (pun intended) of depression! There is no hidden agenda.
Maybe your next stop should be a good EENT and see if something hasn't run amok with YOUR nose! That CAN happen, ya know!
Shower once a day, use a good brand of "pit-stop," wear clean clothes and stop obsessing about your BO! If you can't, then get into therapy.
Peace

lol.....I cant help but to have a laugh at lydias post. I'd have to agree with her, take a shower (and wash with soap) scrub the hell out of your pits. Put some deodorant on and forget about it. You cant please everyone in this world,  you can try forever but its not gonna happen. Also im gonna go ahead and add, This same topic was up a few days ago. And i know for a fact it was because i posted in it. just wanted to clear that up as i saw sonmeone mention it.

My chiropractor told me that when we are nervous we put off a different odor.  And not a good one at that.
