Will this GAD ever go away

Will this GAD ever go away

Hi
I have Gad and every day is a struggle. I have two small children and need to be strong for them but today Im feeling really over it. Ive been on Prozac 20mg for 6 weeks after being on Remeron which just wasn't cutting it. Whenever Im at home I feel really on edge . Ive been seeing a mental health nurse, but Im not seeing much progress. This all started with a undiagonsed illness. I feel I can't tell my husband how I really feel as he doesn't understand. Does this ever get better. Has anyone been cured of GAD and how?
Today I just can't stop crying, how can I get over something which I can't seem to get away?

Hey, sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. You are not alone. So so many people have this, and YES people get better. You said you are crying a lot. Are you depressed or just frustrated with the anxiety?
You asked how people get better. Some get better by finding out they were jittery all the time on edge because of an underlying illness which they either take meds for or it goes away. Others take anxiety medication. Others go to counseling. Others go to a pastor. There a numerous ways people cope and yes, get better. Hang in there. It takes time to figure out what works for you. Did you know that doctors and lawyers and surgeons deal with the same stuff--depression, anxiety, panic attacks. Dont get discouraged, give things time and meanwhile reasearch all about the body and your symptoms and cross re-search and get some ideas. Dont however, try to medicate yourself. Keep digging, and rest assured there is always hope. :)

Hi
Thanks for that. It nice to know Im not alone. I was having a really bad day yesterday. I do have an underlying illness and my Dr thinks I have reactive anxiety because of this. I just don't know if the Prozac is making me better or worse, I just find I am starting to have times where my head just feels weird. Is this the Prozac or the anxiety? Im not sure. I think I was crying because I was just fed up with the anxiety and trying different meds and then dealing with there side effects. Anyway thanks for your kind words.
