Worried about son

Thanks to you both for the two replies. I think you are right Mary that it is a panic attack as I just had it escalate to a terrifying level when my husband dragged our son downstairs and started shouting and screaming at him about abusing our hospitality by ignoring us and staying in his room.  My son started to get upset and tried not to cry but I thought he was going to lose his temper and leave the house.  Of course when I tried to speak it made things worse as my husband started yelling at me alo which upset my son even more. My husband said that is he wants to stay here he is to contribute and if he wants to see his daughter here he is to discuss it with us before agreeing the times and dates with his partner.  I was disgusted at this attitude - our son is obviously in pain and to do this was unforgiveable.  My son is now in a terrible state and I doubt he will get up for work tomorrow as he has been trying to hold it together but has now had all his buttons pushed at once.  Of course if he does not get up for work things will be even worse.  I feel guilty for my husband's appalling attitude - I hate it when he is like this to our son.

They have always hda a difficult relationship as my husband is ex military and domineering.I now feel total and complete despair and want to run away - how selfish and pointless.

Hi again, I hadnt read  the latest post re your husband treating your son like that, I think it is appalling and he has just made a dreadful situation worse, do that to someone who is hurting is dreadful, I am so sorry you must be in such a state, I would feel like leaving with my son until the situation improves but what do I know!! We are here for you if you need us, can you keep them separate for the time being, or will talking to your husband be any good, will he listen? I will be thinking about you.
