XANAX AND PAXIL LITTLE SEIZURES- SO WORRIED

Hi everyone!

I've been taking Xanax (half of .25mg) and Paxil (20mg) daily for 6 months, I take paxil in the mourning and xanax (a half) to go to sleep. But lately I'm feeling a little (very little) seizures, I don't know if I should call them like that but lets say I'm sitting and from nothing my leg shakes once, this is happening to sometimes with my hand. I'm worried cause I don't know if this could be happening due to the intake of this two meds. Wonder if someone have had any experience of this type, will really help me feel better.

Thanks.

These do not sound to me like "typical" seizure episodes, but I am not a doctor so that is purely my opinion. That your leg or your hand only "shakes once," sounds like a muscle twitch far more than a seizure.
The combination of the drugs and the doses you are taking also should not cause any kind of seizure activity.
Personally I would not worry about them unless they increase in frequency, but that is what I would do. I am not saying that is what you should do.
Since these involuntary movements are obviously causing you enough distress to contact an Anxeity Forum, to ease your mind I would suggest you bring these to the attention of your doctor and let him/her rule out seizure as a cause.

Definitely check with your doctor, but one thing antidepressants have in common seems to be depletion of magnesium.  Magnesium relaxes the muscles.  I also get muscle cramps from these meds, some get twitches.  Try supplementing with a 1:1 magnesium citrate to calcium citrate or a 2:1 magnesium to calcium, and see if it helps -- the reason for the combo is to make sure you don't leach out your calcium, but it's higher than the recommended 2:1 calcium to magnesium ratio.  Good luck.
