I have been on 0.25mgs of xanax for 1 year...I take only 1 at night to help me sleep didnt know they were such a bad medicine...Is that a bad dose? as me pricribed to take it during the day too but i dont and never have only take the 1 at night thats it and never more than 1...Scared now about this drug but i need it to sleep....
Xanax, when used properly, is NOT a "bad medicine." ANY med, including a low dose aspirin could be considered "bad" if abused. You are taking a very small dose to help you sleep and are NOT abusing it!
Does it still work for you? Are you finding that you've have to increase the dose to fall asleep? If the answer is no to these questions, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
But since you now have a fear of this drug, you should probably discuss it with your doctor. There are numerous sleep aids out there you could try. More importantly, I would discuss with my doc the REASONS you have trouble falling asleep. SOMETHING is causing this problem. Figure THAT out and you may not need ANY medication at all.
Bear in mind that ANY sleep aid, even an OTC product, can, over time, cause you to develope a belief............real or imagined, that you cannot fall asleep without it.
Food for thought.
Best of luck

In the above post, I asked you two questions.........one being "does it still work for you?" I then said that if the answer to these questions was no, you had nothing to worry about. That should have been "if you answered YES to the first and no to the second.........."
Sorry for the error...........
