Xanax and pregnancy

I just found out I'm pregnant a week ago.  I am six weeks today, with my third child.  I suffer from PTSD, and I am currently taking Xanax 0.5mg twice daily.  Since I found out, I tried taking it on a PRN basis...this was NOT helping me.  My PCP put me on Celexa last week, 20mg daily.  The Celexa seems to be making my anxiety worse!  I cannot sleep and have panic attacks at night.  My husband tries to get me to breath through the attacks, rubs my back, has me do deep breathing.  Nothing seems to help!  My last resort is taking a Xanax.  Within about 15 minutes, I feel a lot better.  I know Xanax is a class D drug~~~not safe/or tested on pregnant women.  I have read a lot about Ativan during pregnancy.  Isn't this in the same drug category?
Also, my anxiety has become so severe in the past two weeks, that I'm not eating and I have actually lost weight.  I am so afraid for this baby....

See your OB/GYN as soon as possible. He/she is the ONLY one qualified to tell you what is and isn't safe for you and your baby. Also, it's my humble opinion that the vast majority of PCPs have no business perscribing psychotropic meds to anyone and for sure not to pregnant women!
Your baby will no doubt be just fine even with the meds you've taken, but stress can be bad for both of you!
Please let us know how you're doing.
Peace
