Xanax

Xanax

I am taking about 1/4 of a 1/4 of Xanax, sometimes for 3-6 days in a row. It is like a speck of the pill, this size of a small small crumb, sometimes I take this 2 times per day, rarely 3 times. The dosage I was given is .5 Xanax (generic), take 3 whole pills per day. I have never taken a half or even a quarter of the Xanax at one time. Over a 6 day period, I probably take 1/2 a pill. Do I need to worry about withdrawal symptoms from this dosage? If it is taken, even in this small amount, would I need to taper off or is it okay to just stop?

Hi, Jess,

I don't think you'd get any withdrawal symptoms; if anything, it would be something very minor. I know this because I used to do the same, one pill of Xanax was too much for me, left me unable to get up from bed, so I used to take the same dosage as you. However, every person is different and you never know how you are going to react until you experience it yourself. You could try just stopping, then if you began to feel dizzy, nauseous etc. try taking some, but less than you do now, etc. For instance, instead of taking it 3 times, take it just once, or never more than twice, etc. Another system that works fine is trying to take it only every other day, then once every three days, etc. Just listen to your body and how it responds.

Good luck!
