Xaxax Withdrawls

I have been taking 4 mg of Xanax per day for the past two years (have been on it for 5 or 6 years).  Now it seems that inbetween doses of Xanax my anxiety shoots up.  I'm tempted to quit taking it.  I know people will suggest tapering, but this just doesn't work for me.  I plan to go cold turkey.  Does anyone know how long the physical withdrawals will last?  How long before I'm over the emotional withdrawals?  How will I know if its my anxiety coming back as before, or just withdrawal symptoms.  PLLEASE HELP ME.

Before I say anything, PLEASE listen to me about your thoughts of going cold turkey off the Xanax! You have been taking this medication for a very long time, far longer than you should have and at a pretty hefty dosage. If you go cold turkey, you will be running MANY risks with your physical and emotional health. There is not a single medical journal or knowledgable doctor who understands benzos who would EVER advise going cold turkey with Xanax. You absolutely MUST taper very slowly off this medication.

I strongly urge you to go to MedHelps Psycopharmacology group and get thier advice about this. They will teach you why you must not attempt to cold turkey this med.
