ZOLOFT WITHDRAWL

by Boomerfxdl, Nov 18, 2008 09:43PM
I have been on ZOLOFT for about fifteen years! They were prescribed for severe panic attacks. They did indeed make those stop, thank god. I was told at that time that this drug was not addictive!!!  After several years I tried to get off them( with my Drs support) I titrated down from 100 to 50 to 25 etc. The withdrawls were terrible!!! Huge mood swings, very violent dreams, and of course the ZOLOFT ZINGERS!! Any time I move my eyes only and not my head the dizziness is awful!!! Unfortunately, my job requires constat ladders and rooftops. My reason for posting is that I wanted you all to know there me be some help!!!!!!!!!!!  A couple of yaers ago I had a bad concusion. One of the effects of this was severe dizziness. I was prescribed ANTIVERT (MECLIZINE) 25 mg. I have been without Zoloft for three weeks now, due to a layoff and no insurance. I went from 50 mg ZOLOFT to zero, beacause of my situation! PLEASE ask your DR. about this medication. If I am feeling extremely dizzy, this seems to cut it in half!!!!!!!! May not work for all, BUT WORTH A TRY!!! Have faith you are not alone, ZOLOFT works but is most assuredly ADDICTIVE!!!!! I hpe this may help someone else. Stay stong........like any ather addiction it's easier with svery effort.

thanks for your comments, I was on zoloft for 2 yrs and it saved my life, but the withdrawls can be minimal if done right, now that the PA came back after 5yrs. I have decided not use the zoloft (only the xanax) at this time, as PA's not as bad as b4.
