The half at night is routine. I am sure you understand my point. You take it nightly. So that is the one you would have to break down bit by bit. I don't think it should take long with a low dosage like that. Even quarter it for a while. See how you feel. If you are not feeling anyway off knock a bit more off it. You get the idea by now. The other half you don't seem to be taken in any sort of routine fashion. No set time for it. Couldn't care if you took it or not. So I can't see that half been a worry at all.

Yeah I could take them or leave them.  I do take a half every night before bed to sleep though and I cannot get up in the morning so I think I metabolize them slowly.

It's a very low amount. What do you feel like when you don't take them? Do you miss them? Feel anyway different? This will tell if you are addicted or not. But as you have been taken them on and off, you have never taken a steady amount for a set time. So, say, come three o clock, you don't rush for xanax bottle. You don't seem to have a time when you take them. Or really care if you do or don't take them. That could be your saviour. People addicted to them take them like clockwork. Same time every day. Your routine is a bit different. So who knows. You might have escaped the need for them by not taken them as prescribed.

I would never stop completley. I am on them for different reasons. But .5 is still a small dose. Basically if you feel your ready to stop cut them in half for awhile, then just take .25 for the next week,  then every other day. It really depends how long you were taking them. For me the help a little, but I know I am not addicted. Addicted means you can't live without  But deifnately decrease for awhile. Good luck
