Zoloft and diarrhea

I've been inching up on Zoloft for almost a month now and got off the Lexapro about a week ago.  Here was my schedule:
Week 1 - 20mg of Lexapro, 12.5 of Zoloft
Week 2 - 10mg of Lexapro, 25 of Zoloft
Week 3 - 5 mg of Lexapro, 37.5 mg of Zoloft
Week 4 - 50 mg of Zoloft
Week 5 (just started) - 62.5 mg of Zoloft

I've noticed the past few days severe stomach aches and diarrhea.  Is this something that is typical for Zoloft and how long does it last?

When I came off Lexapro 10mg... I got stomach bloatedness and diarhea really bad for about 5 days... then it left. I also vomited once... it sucked, but it was managable. =) You'll do fine. Just give it some time.

I took an Immodium so today was better.  I still have to go up to 100 and am now on 62.5.  If every increase is going to do that, my poor stomach is going to explode!  I like Zoloft as far as my mood goes.  IT seems to be kicking in but the side effects are rough!

I was prescribed Zoloft for 1 month, but only took 1 pill. It made me incredibly sick to my stomach.

Different medications affect people in different ways.  For example, I prefer Zoloft, while others will say they do not like it.  Having said that, rememeber, with any SSRI, in my experience, you have more side effects as you come off, go up, or come down in dosage.  Your stomach aches could be from this or a viariety of causes from anxiety, to food you eat, to a stomach bug etc.  I always stress paitience when using these; but always stay in consultation with your doctor and continue to express your concerns if it keeps on bothering you.  Keep us posted!
