Zoloft question.. please help.

Zoloft question.. please help.

I have been taking Zoloft for 12 days now.  For the first week my doctor told me to take half a pill (12.5 mg) and then take the whole pill starting the next week (25 mg).  Throughout these 12 days I felt little waves of  nauseousness every day, nothing that ruined my day or that I couldn't handle.  When I went to see him this past Friday, he asked me what my side effects were and I told him and he also wanted to know if they were still happening.  When I answered yes to that question he seemed a little confused and said they should have subsided by now(10 days into taking them), but told me to keep taking them for a few more days to see what happens.  Anyway, last night I took my pill at 9 pm like I always do.  I happened to be out with a few friends at a bar and around 1 am I started to feel so unbelievably dizzy, nauseous, and weak that I needed to leave right away.  Here I am 16 hours later still feeling the exact same way.  The nauseousness is so severe I'm surprised I haven't thrown up yet.  The dizziness got a little better, and I'm still just as weak.  I am wondering if anyone could share their experiences with Zoloft and how long their side effects lasted and if they just randomly got worse?  I am not sure if this is the Zoloft that is doing this to me or if I am just sick.... I would REALLY appreciate anyone's help.  Thank you!

some people react to the combination of alchohol and SSRI's with severe negative symptoms like your explaining. Id call the doctor first thing in the morning and tell him just what you shared here. Hopefully he will tell you to cut back on the zoloft for a week. I suspect that the liver cant process the alchohol properly when SSRI's are also in your system causing them to negatively interact with each other. The meds actually say to use precaution when drinking,, but frankly I think the warning needs to be alot stronger and from the doctors prescribing them as well because it seems to cause a really bad reaction in alot of people.

*Holding space that your find that balance again soon*
