Zoloft question

Im new to the site, i just started Zoloft 50mg about a week ago, i have really bad anxiety attacks.  They seem to just come out of no where.  I like a lot of you have had about 4 EKG's, bloodwork and worn a holter monitor all in 2009, oh and a chest xray.  Everything came back fine the doctor says its anxiety attacks.  When my attacks come on they seem so sudden, i'll be fine then all of a sudden i start feeling like im on pins and needles.  My heart feels like its pounding out of my chest and i feel like im going to drop dead at any moment.  Anyone else ever feel like that? and if so what helps you?  How long does Zoloft take to actually start making a difference.  Also, i have Xanax for emergencies.

In my experience with Zoloft, it took a good month or so for it to 'kick in.'  Just remember, that this is only part of getting through this.  For me, counseling was the most important step I took in getting over health anxiety. I know it can really hit you out of the blue.  I had gone from being outgoing, loving life, running between 6-8 miles daily, and not having a care in the world to losing my self identity and actually being afraid to leave the house at times.  It is really scary and confusing in the beginning but as with anything we don't know about, learning about it sheds light on the subject and makes the anxiety less formidable.  Keep working through this...and keep us posted!

4 to 6 weeks usually. Some people it is different may take longer . The xanax is to help you until the Zoloft start working. Hope you feel better soon!!
