aNXIETY

I feel your pain. I am also consumed by palpitations, the shakes and shortness of breath with severe burping after a meal. It all started a few weeks ago. I have always had palps, but not this hard or this often. Had several trips to the er and a full cardio workup. All that was noted was several pac's and pvc's. They put me on a beta blocker (tenormin) and klonopin (anti-anxiety). Although all of my symptoms dissapered after one day of the medications except the excessive burping, i am still coming to realization that this was all anxiety. Can you have anxiety and not even know it? I felt fine until i was plaqued with a bout of tachycardia 180 and heavy squeezing in the heart that landed me in the er. Now i am so tranquiled that i feel i have lost my personality. I feel like i traded my soul for medication to feel like im not going to die. Its horrible, I have a beautiful three year old i want to remember every second of his life and enjoy it, and i really cant see that happening with the way the meds make me feel or how i feel off the meds. HELP!

My heart goes out to you.  I lost my husband last year to lung cancer and my mom is currently in end stage cancer - not expected to live much longer.  I live alone and I am now scared of every palpitation I get.   My husband and mom were my best friends.  I have a daughter and worry sick about her now that something will happen to her.  Palps landed me in the ER for the first time last week they were so bad.  EKG was fine - they sent me home with diagnosis "palpitations".   I've never had anxiety before but seemed to have developed a whole host of symptoms.  I hate calling it anxiety though because the symptoms are real.   Hope things get better for you.
