In reference to previous post, I'm 36. Male. Small business owner. Not overweight. exercise a little. Mostly at work or in the yard. Last to know that I had stress and/or anxiety to these proportions.

We are always last to know!!!!  Everyone else sees it but us because we "swear" that it is a medical condition that is causing the pain!  Half the battle is admitting to it and then getting the help you need.

PS:  by the way...many people on this site suffer from health anxieties and the fear of HIV is surmountable!!!! (including myself at one time!)

Thank you for your post. You know, it seems to me that that the very strengths you possess that enable you to think analitically and rationally, turn out to be your biggest enemy when faced with this condition. As an analogy, I feel like my car(body) has a check engine light on and I don't want to put tape over it but want to know what is wrong before the engine breaks down. Half the Doctors say they don't see the check engine light, the others say they see it but if I don't look at it, it will go away. Very hard for me to comprehend that if I find my "Happy Place" then all physical symptoms will resolve on their own. Just frustrating. Thanks again

I know what you mean...many doctors think very lightly of anxiety disorder and think that you can turn it on or off at will....Darn!  if it were that easy, don't you think we would all turn it off?  

That is why you need to she a therapist or psychiatrist, they know how debilitating anxiety disorder can be.....best to you!
