amitriptyline

Hi I posted a few days ago about taking 10mg of amitriptyline and celexa together.  I took the 10mg last night and nothing happened with my sleep.  The doctor said to take it as needed.  When I called today the nurse said it takes a while to get into your system.  I thought if I was taking it as needed it would work the nights I needed to sleep.  I did not sleep last night and I did not notice any drowsiness or anything to indicate that it was making me tiered.  Does anyone know if it takes a few nights to work?  Would I be better off taking ambien?  I have a prescribtion for it but never took it and now I am taking the celexa and didn't know if you could take both together.  I know if I could get some sleep I would feel better.   Someone said to take some natural stuff.  I will have to go to the health food store and try that.  Any advice?  tia

I am not really sure about that medication, but whatever you decide to do, just don't do it on your own.  If you decide to go with the Ambien, jus make sure you talk with your doctor and pharmacist about it, because drugs can interact with each other.  I am sorry you are having problems sleeping right now...please keep us posted!
