anxiety & depression upon waking up

Hey guys,

First off, your input helps a lot even its the slightest thing write it! :-). Soooo with that said i would like to share with you guys what im currently going through. It only took one thing to make me start worrying and then my anxiety and depression took off. I feel tired all the time, have constant headaches, a detached depersonalization feeling and just general depression and hopelessness that these symptoms will never subsided.  This makes it hard to work, do daily activities or do anything I usually enjoy doing. Can anyone offer any advice? or tell me im not alone.

Well, you're definitely not alone! I too have anxiety and depression upon waking up, especially today. Why today? I don't know. Partly because I didn't sleep but 3 hours, and that always makes me feel panicky. I woke up at 4:30 and could not get back to sleep, and that was the one little worry that set off my anxiety. When I got up with my daughter at 7:30 I had to take a Xanax, because my anxiety was really kicking in. Then I was able to get a little sleep while she played. I always feel guilty when I'm out of it like that. I worry that she'll notice and wonder what's wrong with Mommy. (She's five.)

I also take Zoloft, although I'm only up to 25 mg, not really considered a therapeutic dose. I'm extremely sensitive to med changes, so I have to taper up very slowly. I'm hoping that I will be back to myself in another month or so.

I see a psychiatrist and a therapist. I recommend doing that. They can help you address any med needs and the worries that seem to set off your anxiety.
