Check with your doctor before trying any supplement.
Some of the safer and more effective forms of magnesium include: Taurate, Glycinate, and Citrate (latter can be laxitative, so take with food).
Go to your doctor. Why are you suffering and not doing something about it? The only person that can help you is a doctor. If you feel Klonopin isn't the answer for you then you need to go back to your doctor and get on an antidepressant of some kind. I have been dealing with the issues you talk about for most my life and the only answer is medicine and therapy. you can't do it by yourself, it just won't work.
Why did you discontinue the medication? Are you getting professional help?
Anxiety and depressive disorders are serious medical conditions that cannot be wished away and need long term professional treatment to minimize ther impact on our llives.
Certainly taking klonopin daily has to be better then what you are experiencing now, isn't it?
Usually antidepressants are the most effective treatment for the long term but some of us need benzo's to help stem the tide of heavy anxiety.
For me, a good psychiatrist was the best solution. I still have anxiety and depression and have my entire life, but with help I have been able to lead some semblence of a 'normal' life despite it's heavy toll.
