anxiety/derealization

My name is Crystal Im 18 years old and I recently found out that I suffer from anxiety.
I had my first attack on the 30th and was rushed to the emergency room because I dident know what was wrong with me.
A few days later the syptoms (symptoms) went away.
I felt normal again.
But at the same time it was still in the back of my head
Then on saturday the 7th I had my 2nd attack and decided to research my symptons because everybody was telling me that I have anxiety.
So I came across the anxiety website and the symptoms fit mine.
So im going to start seeing a therapist and im also going to an acupuncturist.
Its been a few days and Im still feeling really fatigued and just not myself.
Im hoping that this feeling goes away just like that last one did after the attack.
PLZ reply to me with any advice or things that I can do to make my situation better.
Because this is truely scary and its putting a damper on my life right now
I know that this will go away but I just need more re assurance
I would be very grateful
thanks =)

Hi Crissy,

Anxiety is truly scary, but with the right doctor and support system you can get a handle on it.  I'm glad to read that you are going to see a therapist. I would also suggest a Psychiatrist.  They specialize in Anxiety and the medication that is usually given if needed.  I have a wonderful Psychiatrist and also a Therapist that I see and both have helped me greatly.   Keep your chin up and good luck!

I agree with the person above me. I'm a nutritionist and I also have suffered from anxiety.  I am on medication and have been for years.  I'm fine now.  It started when I was in my teens.  How I wish I would have been put on medication back then.  But no one realised it was anxiety or that their was medication that could help me.  Yes, see a psychiatrist.  They know best what anxiety medication will help.  These meds take about 6 weeks to work.  Usually the first one he (or she) trys will work for you.  But sometime you have to try different meds, or a combination of 2 or 3 meds.  Be patient.  You'll get on the right medication and you'll be feeling emotionally calm and mentally clear before you know it.  Talking to a therapist can also help.  So can exercise.  Brain chemicals that makes you feel good called "Endorphins" are released when you do aerobic exericse.  The more exercise, the more endorphins.  So consider going for a long, brisk walk (at least 30 minutes) every day.  Also, supplements can help your brain.  Fish oil and flax oil have been proven to help with depression and other mental problems.  And they make your skin look beautiful.  In addition to getting on meds and exercising, take these 3 supplements....#1. A multi vitamin/mineral supplement (no tablets. just capsules, powder or liquid)  #2 Fish oil (2 caps a day. 1 early in the day, 1 late in the day) OR Flax oil (take the liquid, not the caps. take 1 tablespoon per 100 lbs. of body weight) #3. Calcium/magnesuim/vitaminD3 (all these in 1 supplement. either liquid, powder or capsule. no tablets. your multi will not have enough of these 3 ingredients. that's why I always recommend women take them too.)  No matter what any one trys to tell you, you don't need any other supplements other than these 3.  And men don't need any other supplements other than #1 an #2.  However, their multi should be iron-free.  Good luck!
