anxiety mixed birth control

My 18 yr old daughter has been on the pill for only a month and is haveing a disturbing reaction to the pill. From out of the blue she just started to cry uncontroled and shaking and she was freaking out because this has never happen to her before. All of asudden she can't sleep and could not concentrate on her studies. Sent her to the er room talked to the therapyst and I asked her if the pill could have somting to do with this and she said not likely. Can someone give me advice because I am very concern for her and she wants an answer what is going on.

well as far as i know a side effect of birth control is Anxiety. this is what my doctor has told me. I actually went off mine for a while because I did not want to add to my anxiety.
What pill is she on?
Maybe try switching to a different one.
I am on Yaz and I take it at night before I go to bed and I am fine.
when does she take it? I know if  maybe she were to take it at night it might  be easier cause she could sleep off any of the side effects. and i'd also maybe wanna talk to a different doctor. The doctor should have known that it is a side effect of birth control.

Hi everyone, I was taking contraceptive pill Mercilon, I have started in February and since that time I started to suffer depressions but badly, sometimes I didn't understand myself why am I so stressed and crying, worried about everything but nothing...It was horrible. Then I thought it must be the pill I wasn't like that before so I stopped taking it about a week ago and I feel much better however still not recovered 100% yet.... I won't take pills never ever again.

I had listed in my chart I suffered from depression and my nurse practitioner said she was worried the pill would worsen my depression... there is a correlation because I have noticed a huge lack of energy and MAJORLY down spirits!

I'm studying nutritional medicine and my advice would be to take her off the pill and not put her on another. If she is simply taking it for contraceptive methods or for irregular periods there are other ways to help. The pill has a number of side effects and depression and anxiety is one of them. When you go on the pill, a number of nutrient deficiencies occur such as vitamin B, zinc, and your need for protein increase dramatically. Protein breaks down into amino acids in your body. One in particular tryptophan is needed to stimulate your happy hormone serotonin. Another amino acid is needed to stimulate adrenaline and noradrenaline which are hormones that help you cope.  So as you can see, a deficiency in protein caused by the pill can cause depression and anxiety. As I am not qualified and haven't spoken to your daughter I would suggest she visit an naturopath or nutritionist to help her. Goodluck :)
