anxiety or real intestinal problem??

anxiety or real intestinal problem??

I'm terrified I have stomach cancer or something.  I have been nauseous for so long.  If I take an anti nausea medication like compazine or phenergan, or dramamine etc.,  I'm fine and I can eat and drink.  If I don't,  I'm nauseous.   I'm going to make an appointment with my doc to see if they can run some tests on me but what do you guys think?  If there was something serious wrong with me,  would the anti nausea meds still work like that?

This sounds like anxiety to me, believe it or not anxiety can cause you to feel sick 24/7. also when you take the nausea meds if you think it will make you feel better most likely they will, It's like taking a placebo. remember anxiety is all in your brain and your brain controls everything. so all in all what I'm trying to say is theres probably nothing serious wrong with you but go to the doc and check it out because it will make you feel better to know.

I also suffer nausea from anxiety.  I thought I was the only one.  I also have acid reflux.  I take Phenergan, occasionally, as even a half a pill makes me so sleepy.  I was glad to hear the above poster confirm what I thought that it could be due to anxiety.  I am diagnosed as a clinical depressive, since age 9, and recently diagnosed with GAD ( Generalized Anxiety Disorder).  I take Klonipin (klonopin), .5 mg 3 times a day and was feeling better so started to taper down, but noticed the anxiety and nausea getting worse.  I am going to my GI, this week, and will discuss as it is so difficult knowing what is what when you have several diagnoses.  I also had surgery, last January, colon resection, and that is when the anxiety got so bad.... I also take 60 mg of Celexa a day.  Hope this helps.  I also recommend going to a doc.  It is possible that the nausea could be related to something like acid reflux.  I get nauseas, unfortunately, from both conditions.

Hi there. I was wondering if you found out anything from your doctor about what is causing your nausea. I am having the same problem. I never vomit, I just feel intermittent nausea. Mine can be gone for a month and then reappear. I have had a stressful year, but sometimes when the nausea comes I do not feel anxious at all. Do you have this as well? Do you have any other symptoms with your nausea? I don't seem to have a sour stomach, just the nausea feeling. Kinda of like motion sickness without the motion. I do not have dizziness.
