anxiety with depression

we have a 28 year old female patient with mild anterior mtral valve prolapse. she has a typical presentaion of anxiety and depression secondary to a stressor. k/c/o psy illness since 7 years. we plan to take her up for ECT since the patient herself is insistent and she is not responding well to pharmacotherapy and CBT.
the cardiologist has put her only on potent antacids and painkillers SOS which is to say she need not be treated for her MVP. the anaesthetist is reluctant to give fitness.
please opine.
