anxiety

I have been diagnoised with anxiety/panic attack for 12 years now.  Got a lot better for a couple years and then came back.  I swear I have every sympton known to man but I recently starting having chattering of my mouth,  not real bad but can notice it and its annoying.  My friend that is a nurse said that it can be from stress.  If I knew that it was nothing to worry about then I would be ok.   I started taking Lexapro in November.  Anyone else had this sympton?  It isn't during a panic attack either just thru out the day........

Tracee,

I don't know if Tardive Dyskinesia is a problem with Lexapro and I don't want to scare you, but I would see your doctor right away about that.  (I was afraid I'd gotten this from Reglan that I was taking for stomach issues).  Anyone, I know one of the symptoms for TD is the mouth thing going on.  Just to be safe, I would have it looked at.

This relaxing pranayam will reduce the stress and in turn the anxiety will be in control.
When you notice the benefit, come back with your feedback.Continue the pranayam once a day for life, after you are better, to stay healthy.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

I made a typo. I should have said 500 mg., not 600 mg. The slight difference in dosage doesn't matter, but the herb is not sold in 600 mg. capsules.

Stress is the diagnosis often given for panic attacks. But the cause is often physical. In my case it was an adrenal problem. Have yourself checked. In the meantime try taking 600 mg. of ashwagandha (Indian genseng). It is an herb that normalizes cortisol. (If it is high it lowers it, and if it is low, ir raises it.) There are no side effects. It is very relaxing. Take it in the evening.
