anyone ever said goodbye to palps forever?

anyone ever said goodbye to palps forever?

Hello,

I've been get palpitations(skipped beats and a general increased awareness of heartbeat) all day, everyday for the past two months. They have shown no sign of improvement and are, in fact, getting worse with as many as two hundred on a bad day. My heart as been ruled as healthy so everyone I talk to says 'ye sure they''ll go away, just stop drinking coffee, eating sweets, get adequate sleep, do exercise, reduce stress'  but none of this helps me...mine just come out of the blue and are impossible to predict. Every story I read seems to be 'ive been suffering from pvcs, blah blah, for past 20 years', 'ectopics all my life' etc. I never hear of anyone saying 'ye i've been getting these non-stop for years and they just suddenly stopped. So am i right in saying that once these start, they just continue on for the rest of your life except for maybe the odd week or month were they go but then quickly return with a vengance or has anyone ever kissed these suckers goodbye for good and haven't had to worry about them since? I'd be very interested to hear back from anyone who has.

I am not a doctor, but if you have been checked out and they said you are ok, then at least you can have comfort with the fact that your heart is good to go. I have palpatations, and of course notice them a lot more than most people because I am so sensitized to feeling for them, but I too had tests done and they said it is nothing to worry about.  Caffeine, alcohol, big meals, etc., all seem to make the problem worse, but I notice them on a daily basis....have you asked your doctor if there is anything you can do to reduce them?

I am not a doctor. What is your blood pressure rate? High blood pressure could be the cause of your palps. Has your doctor ever prescribed you beta blockers as option? My palps starts when I am stressed and it stops when I am not stressed.

I live in pure dreaded fear daily with these things. All my heart related tests were good, my blood pressure is perfect, and I have NEVER drank caffeine, alcohol, done any drugs, smoked, I have lived a clean life. Except for stress, there is no darned reason for me to have them.

Mine started in my mid 20's. left for awhile, and came back when my dear mother had her heart attack and I took care of her with dad for 10  years, it was stressful, but, I would do it again, ohhhh, how I miss her, so does dad. She died 4 years ago this coming April 14. Anyway, since her death, I really notice them lots more, and, as I have posted in the heart rhythm forum, just one little "blip" sends me into orbit. My doctor says all this is anxiety related, but, I have such a hard time believing it.

I cannot take any prescription drugs for this, they all have opposite reactions and I am twice as bad.

I do not think they will ever go away, I think folks that feel them will have them for the rest of their lives, it is just that at some times they will not be as noticeable or bother us as much as other times.

I hate to give the bad news, but, that is what I have read and heard, drugs may help a wee bit, but, they sure are the cure all either.
